Programs

Anything you can teach in an indoor classroom can be taught outdoors, often in ways that are more enjoyable for children.

Infants and Toddlers (0-2 years old)

Infants and toddlers are just getting acquainted with their world and surroundings.  We believe it is important for your infant to feel at home in their environment, creating a safe and secure place for them.  We practice the RIE approach, Resources for Infant Educators, where we believe all children should be treated with respect.  We focus on the authentic child and trust that they know what their capabilities are.  Our environment is warm and cozy, and we provide a place where they can play, learn and grow.  We create individual curriculum for each child based on their developmental needs and interests that is safe, challenging and predictable.  We provide constant care and interaction through hugs and love, songs and books, and a variety of activities from art, science, math, language, and more.  Curriculum experiences will be both indoors and outdoors, whether it is painting, gardening, or reading books under the tree.  Each child will be sent home with a daily communication form, allowing you to have a snapshot of what their day was like.

Twos through Prekindergarten (2-5 years)

Children are so busy exploring the world around them, absorbing as much information as possible.  They are learning and growing every day.  Our Twos through Prekindergarten program allows for children to do just that.  They are developing the skills necessary for today, tomorrow, kindergarten and beyond.  We provide them with experiences to foster a well-rounded child.  They are provided with experiences that focus on their social-emotional, cognitive, and physical developmental needs.  Curriculum is exposed through both small and large groups, with experiences in art, math, science, language, and more.  The environment is set up to learn in all aspects, whether it is measuring water, making mud pies, or searching for bugs.  They will develop social skills by making friendships all while growing into caring and confident individuals.  We provide a rich classroom setting where children are eager and willing to explore and learn through hand-on experiences that they will take with them as they transition to Kindergarten.  We do prepare them for Kindergarten, using the Kindergarten guidelines provided by the state of California, and make the transition as successful as possible.  We introduce easy, fun learning through our Handwriting without Tears and Everyday Math programs that will ensue their readiness.  A daily communication form will be provided to each child, giving you a synopses of their day.

School Age

Our Afterschool Program is for children who need a fun environment once school gets out.  We provide assistance with homework, and a variety of other experiences that allows them to continue learning in a home setting without actually feeling like they are learning.  A variety of activities will be available to your child allowing them to continue physical, mental, emotional strengthening in a low key setting.  They have choices and options for what experiences they want to partake in after a long day at school.

Enrichment Classes

Young Explorers Preschool believes that extracurricular activities are important for each child’s development.  They offer various extracurricular activities once a week to encourage healthy brain growth.  These activities may include, but are not limited to: Spanish, dance, music, sports, cooking.
